I was walking to the bus stop with my boyfriend wearing a short floral sundress. A car passed by while we were walking and the guy in the passenger seat had yelled “Use a condom!” at us. This was rude and knowing our society’s horrible social norms, the verbal harassment would have been worse had I been walking alone in that dress. Not only is THAT irritating, but it’s also irritating that street harassment makes us depend on men to make us “feel safer” walking with them, yet when we do walk with them, it happens anyway. Ugh!
