two, probably teenage, young men with what looked like school attire and back packs walked past me outside of [a cafe] on Pratt st. “Girl, you like me-I like you” was said in conversational tones by the taller male as they drew level with me. I continued to walk straight purposefully… 10 seconds later I wonder what I could have said in response.

The thing is, it’s shocking and oftentimes scary when it does happen to us. In some cases, we just shut down, not knowing how to respond at that particular moment. It usually comes on so suddenly, how could we respond the way hindsight tells us we should have? You did the right thing by not giving in and responding at all.
