CALLING YOU IN: Hollaback! Baltimore is putting a call out for anyone and everyone who would be interested in taking on a leadership role at our chapter. YOU have the power to shape the conversation around street harassment in Baltimore by putting on events, participating in solidarity actions with other non-profits and social justice campaigns, writing op-eds or blog posts, raise money for special projects, or anything else you see fit! At Hollaback! you have so much freedom in how you address these important issues. Under previous Chapter Leaders, we’ve concentrated on Trans rights, Police Brutality, and creating Safer Spaces. What do you want to concentrate on?

By joining in with the global Hollaback! movement, you’re connected to amazing activists world wide – you don’t have to reinvent the wheel, and we all get to raise each other up. You’ll have just the right amount of structure and freedom to get the work done. Previous volunteers and Chapter Leaders will always be available for guidance and advice.

We believe that this chapter would benefit from multiple people volunteering together and sharing responsibilities. If you are interested in getting involved, please email: [email protected].

As we search for new Chapter Leaders, the Hollaback! Bmore website will still exist as a resource for sharing street harassment experiences (from victims and bystanders alike), and our Safer Spaces Program will continue to conduct training sessions for venues. Shawna Potter (Founder), Brittany Oliver (former Chapter Leader) and Leah Micheals (former Chapter Leader) are all still available for speaking engagements, panel discussions, interviews, and more. Just email [email protected] to get in touch.
In solidarity,

Shawna Potter

  1. Hi, I’m interested in learning more about how to get involved with Hollaback Bmore. I’m one of the co-organizers of IRIS Baltimore, community based Latinx LGBTQ advocacy and support. I have a lot of respect for the work that you do and would love to support any way I can.
